Cookie Policy
This site sets no cookies. Not a necessary one, not an analytics one, not an advertising one. This page explains what that means in practice and what is recorded instead.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store and then send back on later requests, which is how a site recognises a returning browser. Cookies are how sites keep you signed in, remember a preference, or — when set by a third party — follow a browser between different websites to build an advertising profile.
This site sets no cookies
Synergy Portal sets no cookies of its own and allows no third party to set a cookie through it. To be specific about what that rules out, none of the following exists anywhere on this site:
- No analytics or audience measurement of any kind.
- No advertising cookies, no conversion pixels, no remarketing tags.
- No social media buttons, embeds, or share widgets.
- No embedded video, map or comment service.
- No chat widget, no A/B testing tool, no consent management platform.
- No session identifiers, because the site has no accounts, no forms and nothing to keep track of between pages.
Because nothing is set, there is nothing to ask permission for, and so this site shows no cookie banner. A banner here would be describing something that does not happen. The absence of the banner is the accurate signal, not an oversight.
It is also worth stating what the site loads. Every page uses one stylesheet and one script file, both served from this domain, and all illustration is drawn in the page itself. No font, script, image or stylesheet is fetched from any external host, so opening a page here causes your browser to contact no server other than the one hosting this site. No Google service is used, and no content delivery network is involved.
What happens instead
Two things occur that involve information, and both are described in full in the privacy policy.
Server logs. The hosting infrastructure records an ordinary web server log entry for each request: the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the date and time, the response code, and any referring page the browser sends. This is not a cookie — nothing is stored on your device and nothing identifies your browser on a later visit. Log entries are kept for 30 days and are used for security and diagnostics only.
Email you send. If you write to the contact address, the publisher receives your message. That is a choice you make, not something the site does.
Other browser storage
The same answer applies to the technologies that are sometimes used to avoid the word cookie. This site uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no IndexedDB, no web beacons, and no browser or device fingerprinting. The one script file on this site operates the menu, the navigation dropdown and the question panels, and nothing else — it stores nothing, sends nothing, and makes no network request. It is served unminified so that anyone who wishes to check can read it at /assets/main.js.
Controlling cookies anyway
Nothing here needs blocking, but every major browser lets you manage cookies regardless, and the controls are worth knowing for the rest of the web. In Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari the relevant settings sit under privacy or site data, where you can view what has been stored, delete it for one site or all sites, block third-party cookies, or have everything cleared when you close the browser. A private or incognito window discards site data when the window closes.
Blocking cookies has no effect on this site, since it sets none. Every page works identically whatever your cookie settings are, and with JavaScript disabled entirely the content remains fully readable — only the menu and the expanding question panels behave differently.
If this ever changes
Should a cookie ever be introduced — for example if the site added a tool that required one — this page will be updated to name that cookie, say who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before the cookie is set for the first time. The privacy policy carries the same commitment. Until such an update appears here, this page's statement that no cookies are set is a description of the site as it currently runs.
